Applause-worthy… RTHReviews: Chandu Champion

The less you know about the real story, the better it is to watch first-hand how the story unfolds… there are multiple aspects to like about this film, but mainly, there is so much purity with which the film is told, that it completely resonates with you, or with some aspect of your life, and deep down you’re able to feel the core of the film, that’s the main beauty of it.

First and foremost, Kartik Aaryan has done a fabulous job with this role, right from the start and with every bit of the character transformation, he thoroughly gets into the skin of the character and it shows. That level of effort and dedication makes you invest in the film even more. This is one of his best if not the best, performances. The credit also goes towards the rest of the cast, especially Vijay Raaz, who is a delight to watch, a lovely written role and so well performed. So many of the supporting cast had such critical moments in the film and it’s very applause-worthy.

A film of this stature, with the utmost detailing, dedication, and depth could only be delivered by someone like Kabir Khan… the direction and the screenplay of the film, both are impeccable, the combination is just the right fit as the film progresses keeping you held up with the story, hitting you with the emotional moments, some feel-good moments, and some inspirational moments as well. In the fourth quarter, there are moments when it feels a bit off balance, but in totality, it’s such a good output, especially with what the film makes you feel that you don’t want to focus on the minute flaws here and there, including the score and songs which could’ve been better too…

Very few times, there’s a good Hindi film that feels right to watch on the big screen these days, and even fewer times, when a sports film comes out with so much detailing and depth… This film should be watched for the story, the inspiration, the message, the performances, and the emotions… the combination rarely hits right these days, but here it’s a perfect mix with Chandu Champion.
