What you Eat

What you Eat

Right from what we eat to when we eat and how much we eat is something that’s either followed by tradition or media manipulation.

Tradition involves ancient, timeless wisdom, foods that come from mother earth, which benefit the mind, body, and soul.

Media manipulation involves stories that melt your heart, advertising that creates cravings and scientific experiments that make the food pop in your mouth.

But, that’s not all. An understanding of food is something that everyone needs to have, in order to have a good today and a good tomorrow.

What we eat affects your

– gut

– inflammation in the body

– immune system

– cells in the body

– energy levels

– emotions

– body alkalinity

When we understand how a certain food item affects your body, you automatically feel the need to remove it from your system, irrespective of how it tastes and how long you’ve been eating it for.

Also, note how I haven’t referred to body weight in the points above, as that is an outcome of irregularities in the above points.

You eat the right way to maintain your gut health, to keep your body alkaline and keep your body inflammation in check, to keep your immune system strong.

Losing weight is a by-product of a good lifestyle, which also allows to eat all the good things, without compromising on anything.

Life isn’t an either or game

Life isn’t an either or game

What we have been taught of life has always concluded with an either or option.

You either win or lose at life.

You’re either happy or you’re not.

You either accomplish something in life or you don’t.

It’s always an either or option that you end up measuring yourself against.

I feel, life isn’t an either or game.

Neither should it be made into one.

What this thinking avoids is the process behind reaching these either or scenarios.

The experiences, the learning, the fun – all is lost when it’s ultimately summed into an either or.

In the quest to make life into something, we forget the now, we forget the journey, we forget these moments, all for that conclusion.

Life is in the middle, in the unknown, sometimes in the light, sometimes in the dark, finding the light, not knowing the next step, failing at something and then trying again, life is all about that.

It cannot be summed into an either or game.

Two Lifestyles and a Choice

Two Lifestyles and a Choice

Living a certain kind of a lifestyle is a choice – one that cannot be changed in a day, but certainly requires a strong mindset and a definitive assertion of choice to do so.

To live one is normal, to change that completely and form a new one shows that you’re ready for change and you’re ready to step up, to evolve.

Drawing my own story to explain this further, having lived two completely opposite lifestyles – having seen the advantages and disadvantages of each of those lifestyles, of course I’ve drawn a number of conclusions from either of them.

Where one gives you the comfort, but also doesn’t allow you to grow and the other one definitely takes efforts and time, but also gives you comfort and growth, both.

Where one wasted a lot of time, another asks for more investment but gives that much return on investment too.

Where one allowed you to spoil your mind and body, another helps you in building a strong one and helps you to take care of them.

In terms of both of these lifestyles, having done a lot of experimentations of what works and what doesn’t – for me…

Now, I choose to not live a life without

  • meditation
  • yoga
  • clean eating
  • gratitude practice
  • conscious positivity
  • stillness
  • spirituality

– each of those things and more have their own value, their importance – their impact on the mind, body and soul.

It all comes from experimentations and practice – reading or having pre-conceived notions about anything won’t help unless you try something practically on yourself and see the difference.

Understand what works for you and what doesn’t, what is helping you grow and evolve and what doesn’t. You’d agree that, life is about becoming a better version of yourself.

Are you listening?

Are you listening?

Every word you speak to yourself, you are listening to it as well.

Every opinion you think of, every judgement you form, every envious thought you have, you are listening to all of it.

Every thing that you listen to becomes a part of your cognitive experience as well.

This is how you end up thinking about yourself, this is how you then behave, this ends up in how you pave the path for yourself.

Everything that you do becomes a part of you. As Lisa M. Hayes has said, “Be careful how you are talking to yourself because you are listening.”

Here’s something to remember – speak with caution.
